Brief Summary Major multinational music and entertainment conglomerate is seeking a music executive with the experience and skills to be part of a new label in the U.S.

This SVP Publishing / A&R role is for a gifted business & creative music executive in the "Pop & Dance" genres who can report to the President of US operations.

We seek "drive", "intelligence", "passion" and a "musical ear" within the Dance & Pop genres and insight into future sounds and future music technologies. Almost a venture capital approach to the future of music.

Responsibilities

Sign and develop fresh/cool/innovative/imaginative industry writing team(s) in the Pop/Dance genres. Ability to utilize generous signing budgets, creative support and recording facilities with maturity and professionalism.
Should be very active and current in the US music creative community in the Pop & Dance genres to develop original music and unique sounds for your U.S. record label 90% - Japan 10%
The President of the USA Division will grant full autonomy based on the creative / business / music publishing experience of this SVP. A&R Publishing.
Manage existing publishing JVs with top firms

Manage existing writers and producers and sign new ones
Manage writing sessions for artists
Demo sourcing to third party writers
Help A&R/market artists, and work to succeed in the US markets to include partnerships with major labels and marketing companies
Always have an open ear for talented writers, artists and producers to sign
Sign/A&R U.S. Pop/Dance artists in Los Angeles
Maintain awareness of new sounds, and music technologies to keep the firm on the cutting edge of the industry and the "Pop & Dance" genres
Must have exceptional operational abilities on the business side.
